Halfway done?!!! WHAT? This is flying by! And I have to admit, it kinda terrifies me!
How far along: 20 weeks!
Sex: BOY. And we officially decided on a name! Emerson <3
- Gotta Have: Avocados, Salads, Sweet Potato Fries, and still Mangoes.
- Keep it Away: Veggie burgers. Blah.
Missing: Finally went through my closet and put away all of the clothes that no longer fit. So I’m definitely missing having more options.
Symptoms: Feeling great, actually! Energy is up most of the day. Sleep could be better but my blood sugar tends to drop a bit around 4am to wake me up. I’m hungry ALL the time.
Weight gain: 6 lbs
Maternity clothes: Mostly bottoms. Jeans, leggings (living in these). I’ve been able to get away with a handful of stretchy, non-maternity dresses that show off the little bump. And still wearing a lot of my flowy dresses..well, the ones that still fit my chest..
Preparations: We started our ‘must have’ list and registry. Picking out some of the big things like crib and stroller. But other than that, I’ve just been reading a lot of books on natural birth, parenting, etc. trying to get mentally prepared (if that’s possible).
Best purchase this month: Some fun baby boy clothes after we found out the sex. A few things online and some fun finds at H&M. Last night a friend gave us baby converse which are of course, adorable.
Looking forward to: Our next appointment with our midwife. We’ll have our second ultrasound with fetal anatomy scan. I’m excited to see our little one again and find out that everything is going smoothly.
Exercise: Still walking a lot and doing 4 days per week of light weight exercises with one day of stretching.
On My Mind: Just amazed that there’s life growing inside of me. It’s crazy to be so in love with someone before you meet them. I’m so thankful that I’m feeling so much better and can start to really enjoy the pregnancy. Halfway to the finish line is a big wake up call! It’s one thing to be pregnant, but a totally different experience to be a parent. So we are gearing up as much as possible for that 🙂
