Since about 10 years old, Casey has back and forth with sticking to a vegan/vegetarian diet. Then through college, she fell victim to a few fad diets – low carb, then high carb. All fruit, then no fruit. Vegan, then paleo. You name it, she’s tried it. She is now at a place where she’s learned to listen to the needs of her body, rather than slapping a label on her health.
Everyone is thrown so many opinions about what works, all of them contradicting the next, that it becomes so confusing to figure out what is best for your own body. Well, the truth is, what works for Casey, might not work for you. We are all so different and need to explore our needs, not Dr. Atkins’ or Jenny Craig’s. Casey’s goal is to help empower you to take back your health, and learn to eat in a more intuitive way. You’ll never hear her recommend that someone follow a strict vegan diet or completely cut out grains forever, because she understand that those things will not work for everyone. There is no “one diet fits all.”
What she does know is that a diet made from 100% whole foods and high in plants, is always a sure bet for feeling great. That is the constant theme throughout Urban Sprout’s nutrition guides and recipes.
The recipes you’ll find on Urban Sprout are simple, healthy, and delicious. Casey likes to use minimal ingredients, all coming from natural, whole food sources.
Urban Sprout buys local, organic, and fair trade when possible. All of the recipes are gluten-free, while many are even grain-free. They will all be listed with vegan options.
